High St Neighbourhood Watch - Local Community Safety Update

Dear High St Neighbourhood Watch Member,

High St Ward Community Safety Update

The Metropolitan Police have recently identified an increase in antisocial behaviour around fast-food premises in Walthamstow High Street scheme, particularly around ‘Popeyes’.

The local Safer Neighbourhood Team has contacted the Town Centre Team to increase patrols in the area.  Police are also considering enforcement measures against persistent offenders.

How you can help

If you witness antisocial behaviour, please report it to the police through 101, online at www.met.police.uk, on X @Metcc.

Only call 999 if there is immediate danger.

We would also welcome hearing from members about recurring problems, particularly locations and times when incidents occur. This helps Neighbourhood Watch identify patterns and raise concerns with local police.

‘Are there any particular locations in High Street ward where you feel antisocial behaviour or crime needs greater attention’?

Some encouraging news:

Police also report that robbery in the ward has decreased over the past three months.

Our aim is to work with residents, police and the council to make High Street ward a safer and more pleasant place for everyone.

Kind regards

James Phillips

Waltham Forest Neighbourhood Watch.
