Monthly community update from Carmarthenshire Roads Policing Constable Sion Moore – September 2026.
Hello everyone,
I hope this message finds you well. I provide this update to share a roundup of the work that your local Roads Policing Unit have been doing in your area to address your road safety concerns, what’s coming up next month and how we are working with partners to keep our roads safe for those living, working and visiting Carmarthenshire.
From what our communities have told us, we have been focusing on: Llanelli – Burry Port and North Dock Carmarthen – A40 and A48 Ammanford – Ammanford Town
To tackle these issues effectively we have been working with our partners, Local Authority for Carmarthenshire, Local NPPT teams along with Carmarthenshire Response Policing Teams. By working with these partners, we can respond effectively and address community needs.
As a result, your Carmarthenshire Road Policing Unit have;
• Conducted hours of dedicated road safety patrols, enforcement and operations across Carmarthenshire • Dealt with a number of Road Traffic offences • Made numerous arrests for Drink and Drug Driving • Arrested individuals for Drug Supply Offences • Attended numerous road traffic collision and supported those involved and taken enforcement action where required In addition to this officers have also supported operations involving HGV’s focusing on immigration crime. Dedicated patrols are now in place at North Dock to deal effectively with Anti Social use of vehicles at the location. This is in conjunction with NPPT and Response officers, you will therefore see more activity in the area at relevant times moving forward to tackle the issues that you as a community have raised. This coming month we will continue to target the issues affecting our communities by participating in the following Road Safety Campaigns; Operation Insight - Focusing on Pedestrians and Eyesight Operation Spotlight – Fatal 5 Offences
Thank you for your continued support and engagement. As always, we do appreciate your support and assistance in identifying individuals and locations of concern. Your patience and understanding is appreciated. We know that there will be more areas of concern that you as a community will want to raise.
