Keeping Our Community Safe – Firework Awareness

Keeping Our Community Safe – Firework Awareness

Dear Brixton Residents and Community Members,

Subject: Keeping Our Community Safe – Firework Awareness

As we move into the autumn and winter months, we’re asking for your support in keeping our neighbourhoods safe. Every year, from September onwards, we see a rise in young people using or misusing fireworks in public places.

While fireworks can be fun when used responsibly, they can also cause serious injuries, damage property, and create distress for others — particularly when used in residential areas or near roads.

We’d like to remind everyone that:

We’re encouraging parents, carers, and community members to talk to young people about the dangers of fireworks and the impact misuse can have on others. Together, we can help prevent accidents and keep our streets safe.

If you have any information about the sale or misuse of fireworks in your area, please contact police via:

by calling 101, or by speaking directly with your local Safer Neighbourhoods Team.

Thank you for your continued support in keeping Brixton a safe and welcoming community for everyone.

Yours sincerely,

Rush Common NPT
