Community Safety Reminder | Cheetham Hill Road

We are asking residents, businesses and visitors to remain vigilant when in and around the Cheetham Hill Road area following an increase in reports of mobile phones being targeted.
Our neighbourhood officers are aware of the issue and are continuing to work proactively to tackle this behaviour. We would encourage everyone to remain alert and take a few simple steps to help keep themselves and their belongings safe:

• Keep your mobile phone out of sight when not in use.
• Avoid walking with your phone in your hand close to the roadside.
• Stay aware of your surroundings and avoid becoming distracted by your device.
• If you need to make a call or send a message, consider stepping into a shop or safer public area.
• Enable phone security features such as facial recognition, passcodes and tracking apps.
• Avoid displaying valuable items, including mobile phones, when out and about.

We understand that mobile phones are an important part of everyday life, but taking these simple precautions can significantly reduce the risk of becoming a victim of crime.
If you witness suspicious activity or have information that could assist police, please report it via 101 or through the GMP website. Always call 999 in an emergency or if a crime is in progress.
By looking out for one another and staying vigilant, we can help keep our community safe. Thank you for your continued support.
