WET ROADS = EXTRA CAUTION!
Last night officers PC 2238,PCSO 6667 and PCSO 6574 attended a single vehicle road traffic collision on the A511 Ashby bypass.
Thankfully, the driver was uninjured.
We would like to remind all drivers to take extra care when out on the roads. Wet and slippery road surfaces can be dangerous, increasing stopping distances and making it easier to lose control of your vehicle.
Please remember to: Slow down – adjust your speed to suit the road and weather conditions. Leave more space – increase the distance between you and the vehicle in front. Brake gently – avoid sudden braking, acceleration or sharp steering. Watch out for standing water – it can cause aquaplaning and loss of control. Check your tyres – ensure they have adequate tread and are properly inflated. Stay focused – avoid distractions and give the road your full attention.
Take your time, drive to the conditions and arrive safely. A few extra minutes on your journey are always worth it.
