Your Weekly Bablake Update
Weekly Update from your local Bablake NPT
Dear Members
Here’s your weekly update from myself and the rest of the team.
What’s Been Happening
Rural crime Stables have recently been broken into on WALL HILL ROAD and equipment stolen including horse shavings. If you own horses, please be aware of Operation Gallop. This is a UK policing initiative focusing on equine related crime and safety. For further information please see Operation Gallop
Caravan crime A Swift caravan has been stolen from WALL HILL ROAD and a caravan on PICKFORD GREEN ROAD has been damaged by suspect(s) removing the wheel and hitch locks. The registration plate was also taken off and discarded nearby. Secured by Design - Caravan, Motorhome & Campervan Security
Arrests Across the four wards several arrests have been made including three females for robbery in HOLBROOKS, who stole meats to the value of £80 and in their attempt to leave, injured security.
The following day, a vehicle collided with another and crashed into an electrical box knocking out lighting in RADFORD. The driver decamped where officers have contained the area and a foot chase pursued. The driver was arrested for dangerous driving and failing to stop.
Another incident, a suspect has been found inside a resident’s vehicle. The suspect made a run for it where he was later detained by officers and arrested for vehicle interference.
Whilst on the subject of vehicle crime, we would like to send a reminder to take care when leaving vehicles unattended. Thieves may take advantage of vehicles that are left unlocked or with items on display. Even items that appear to have little value can attract attention and result in damage to a vehicle.
Awareness We have been made aware of people knocking on doors asking to buy scrap cars. Please be cautious as this can be a tactic for doorstep fraud, vehicle theft and unlicenced scrap collectors. Please do not engage and always report suspicious knocking.
Crime figures Over the past nine days on the Bablake ward, there have been two reports of vehicles being stolen on BENNETTS ROAD SOUTH (Jaguar F Pace) and BROWNSHILL GREEN ROAD (Honda motorcycle – recovered). I am pleased to say no residential burglaries have been reported.
Until next week Stay safe everyone.
