Hate Crime Awareness Week 2026 |
||
|
National Hate Crime Awareness Week in the UK will take place from 10–17 October 2026
A hate crime is any criminal offence that is perceived by the victim, or any other person, to be motivated by hostility or prejudice towards someone's:
✅ Race or ethnicity
Hate crimes can take many forms, including verbal abuse, threatening behaviour, criminal damage, assault, harassment, online abuse, and hate-filled messages.
Everyone deserves to feel safe, respected and valued. If you experience or witness a hate crime, please do not suffer in silence. Reporting incidents helps us take action against offenders, support victims, and make our communities safer for everyone.
📞 In an emergency, always call 999. 📞 You can also report anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or online through Crimestoppers. If you do not want to give your name, Crimestoppers allows you to pass information anonymously, helping law enforcement tackle hate crime while protecting your identity.
Remember: if you see it, hear it, or experience it, report it. Hate crime has no place in our communities.
