⚠️ PUBLIC SAFETY ALERT - ASOS CYBER INCIDENT |
ASOS is currently investigating a cyber incident after an unauthorised notification was sent to customers. The company has stated that names and contact details may have been accessed, but it does not believe payment card information or account passwords have been affected. Criminals often exploit incidents like this by sending convincing phishing emails, text messages and making phone calls pretending to be from legitimate organisations. They may even claim to be ASOS! Protect Yourself✅ Be cautious of unexpected emails, texts, calls or app notifications, including those claiming to be from ASOS. ✅ Do not click links or open attachments contained in suspicious messages. ✅ Never provide passwords, banking information or security codes in response to an unsolicited contact. ✅ Access your ASOS account by typing the website address into your browser or using the official app rather than following links in any messages. ✅ Use strong, unique passwords for online accounts and enable two-factor authentication (2FA) wherever available. Note - ASOS is not currently advising customers to change their passwords. Watch Out For🚩 Messages claiming your account has been compromised. 🚩 Requests to "verify" your details. 🚩 Refund offers or compensation payments linked to the incident. 🚩 Urgent requests for payment or personal information. If You Think You've Been Targeted• Stop communicating with the sender or caller. • Report suspicious text messages by forwarding them to 7726 (SPAM). • Report suspicious emails to report@phishing.gov.uk. If you are an ASOS customer, please exercise caution for the foreseeable future regarding any unexpected communication, request, login alert, password reset, refund offer or account-related activity claiming to be connected to your ASOS account. The best defence is to Stop, Think, and Thoroughly Verify before responding to any unexpected communication. REMEMBER, if it is OUT OF THE BLUE IT'S NOT FOR YOU. If you are the victim of Fraud or Cybercrime 🌐 Report online here: UK's Home for Reporting Cyber Crime & Fraud - Report Fraud 📞 Or call: 0300 123 2040 📞 To quickly contact your bank dial 159
👥Please share this advice with friends, family, and colleagues, particularly if you believe them to be ASOS customers.
