Glossop SNT - Stop - Think - Fraud
Celebrity Traitors has returned to our screens once again and Claude, our fraud-fighting sock puppet, has returned with his Claudia style hairdo to share tips to protect against fraud.
Everything is not as it seems in the castle, and the same is true of scams. Criminals impersonate trusted organisations to get you to click a link, supply information or make a payment.
Whilst watching the celebs work against the clock is entertaining, remember that someone pressuring you to act urgently is often the sign of a scam.
In the castle, people hold information close – knowing that their personal details can be used against them. This is the same for scams as criminals can use your information, which may have been leaked in a previous data breach, to try and appear as a legitimate organisation.
At the round table, minds can be changed in the heat of the moment. Accusations made and faithfuls banished. Taking a moment to ‘stop and think’ can be key, and it’s the same for fraud too.
Now, who are we thinking will end up in the turret next ❓
