Army Bomb Disposal in the Cliffe Tuesday 6th October 2026

Hello,

Just a quick note to explain why the Army Bomb Disposal Team were seen in and around Cliffe on Tuesday (6th) afternoon.

Firstly there is nothing to worry about.

They were there to dispose of some found Second World War munitions that had come to light during some drainage ditch maintenance.  

The safest way to dispose of the munitions was to destroy them in situ, hence why a loud bang could have been heard.
