Criminal Behaviour Order secured |

A Criminal Behaviour Order was successfully granted at Southwark Crown Court to Gareth Stevens on the 11th September 2026. The order will be in place for a 5 year period. This order prohibits Stevens from entering the ward of St James within the City of Westminster. Criminal Behaviour Orders (known as CBO's) are used to tackle the most persistent offenders involved in anti-social behaviour and crime. The CBO was granted by the judge following a court case whereby Stevens was found guilty of racially abusing a Police officer and physically assaulting a 2nd officer. He was also found guilty of criminal damage after destroying his custody cell and for maliciously administering a poison (or other destructive or noxious thing) namely urine, with intent to injure, aggrieve or annoy. After being found guilty he was sentenced to 16 months in prison and the CBO was authorised and placed against the defendant by the judge at the sentencing hearing. Stevens has a long history of criminal activity and he was well known for dealing drugs to vulnerable individuals who have drug and alcohol issues within the St James Ward. This lengthy custodial sentence and the 5 year CBO will ensure that Stevens is unable to exploit vulnerable individuals within the ward and to commit ASB and criminal activity.
