AFC Bournemouth have qualified for European football

This season, AFC Bournemouth has qualified for European football for the first time in the club's history. This is a remarkable achievement for the club, its supporters and Bournemouth as a whole, placing the town on an international stage.

The competition is expected to bring a range of benefits to the area, including increased visitor numbers, greater use of local hotels, restaurants and businesses, and a positive economic impact for the local economy. It also presents an opportunity for Bournemouth to showcase itself to a wider audience.

The following home fixtures have been confirmed:

European fixtures can present different operational challenges compared with domestic matches. Larger numbers of travelling supporters are expected, and matchday activity may vary depending on the visiting team.

Based on experiences from previous European fixtures elsewhere, activities associated with travelling supporters can include organised fan marches, the use of drums and loud hailers, and, on occasions, the use of pyrotechnics. Supporters often travel in large groups and may gather in Bournemouth town centre prior to travelling to the stadium. Specific routes and locations have not yet been confirmed.

Dorset Police is undertaking detailed planning with partner agencies to ensure these events are delivered safely and with minimal disruption to local communities. As part of this process, we are keen to understand any potential community impact and ensure that local views help inform our planning.
