Smart Alert – Doorstep Traders in Hardy Place

Residents are advised to be vigilant following reports of doorstep traders offering tree top cutting and gardening services in the Hardy Place area.

✅ Be cautious of anyone knocking unexpectedly offering services.

✅ Do not leave valuables, tools, bicycles, or other property outside or in clear view.

✅ Never leave traders unsupervised and avoid leaving doors open while speaking with them.

✅ Be wary of pressure selling tactics or demands for immediate payment.

✅ If you see anything suspicious, report it to police. If a vehicle is involved, try to obtain the vehicle registration number (VRM), make, model and a description of the occupants if safe to do so.

✅ Please speak to your neighbours and share this information, particularly with elderly or vulnerable residents who may be more susceptible to rogue traders.

If you feel threatened or a crime is in progress, call 999. For non-emergency concerns, report via 101 or online through Staffordshire Police.

Stay alert, stay safe, and help look out for one another.
