Neighbourhood Policing Update: Engaging with our Community in Tadcaster |
||
|
Your local Neighbourhood Policing Team has continued its commitment to engaging with residents, businesses and community groups across Tadcaster, with officers carrying out a variety of activities today aimed at both tackling local concerns and maintaining a visible and reassuring presence.
Sadly, during the early hours of this morning, the seating area within the Britannia Car Park was once again targeted by persons unknown, who set fire to part of the small seating area. This incident follows previous reports of anti-social and criminal behaviour in the locality and is extremely disappointing for the wider community.
Enquiries are ongoing, and we are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity in the area or who has relevant CCTV footage to contact North Yorkshire Police. Anyone with information relating to this fire is asked to contact the Police Control Room via 101 or online. If you witness a crime in progress, always dial 999.
Those who regularly follow our community updates will know that Tadcaster Bus Station remains a priority area for the Neighbourhood Policing Team. Today, PC Woods and PCSO Carlisle conducted patrols in and around the bus station, engaging with drivers, passengers and members of the public. These conversations provide a valuable opportunity to listen to community concerns, gather local intelligence and offer reassurance to those who use the area on a daily basis.
Both officers also attended the local Coffee Club, where they spent time speaking with a number of residents and visitors. A variety of topics were discussed, covering local issues and community concerns. Importantly, customers were keen to engage positively with the officers, demonstrating the value of these informal opportunities to build relationships and maintain strong links between the police and the public.
This afternoon, PC Woods attended Tadcaster Albion Football Club. As one of the town's key community stakeholders, the club provides an excellent opportunity to engage with residents, volunteers, players and supporters. The visit allowed officers to further strengthen existing partnerships while maintaining a visible and reassuring presence within the community.
Neighbourhood policing is about far more than responding to incidents. It is about being present within our communities, listening to local concerns, building relationships and working together to keep Tadcaster a safe place to live, work and visit. Today's activity highlights the continued efforts being made by your local policing team to engage with the community and address the issues that matter most to local people.
Anyone with information regarding the fire at Britannia Car Park is encouraged to contact North Yorkshire Police. Your information, no matter how small it may seem, could assist ongoing enquiries greatly. | ||
