Hello Resident, I hope this message finds you well. As we have gone through September, I wanted to share a quick round-up of what’s been happening across our local area, what’s coming up, and how we’re working together to keep our community safe and thriving.
🔍 Local Priorities
Our current focus areas include:
Walsall Arboretum due to the rise in visitors attending with the Summer Months.
Caldmore Green/Road and surrounding area due to reports of Anti Social Behaviour and Parking concerns.
Speeding vehicles including E Bikes and E Scooters in Walsall Town Centre during daytime, evening and late evening time hours.
We’re continuing patrols and targeted operations in these areas and welcome any feedback or concerns you’d like to raise.
🤝 Partnership Working
There has been a joint operation with Walsall Council's trading standards team in Walsall Town Centre, tackling the local shops that are selling illegal cigarettes and counterfeit goods, various items were seized and off the streets of Walsall.
Officers have been out and about in partnership with a Green square Accord Housing, they have visited several properties and locations across St Matthews including the town centre and local areas, they have been dealing with issues that have been reported to us such as ASB and Drug dealing. These visits are based on intelligence that is received from the people living in the community affected. Additional intelligence was received with reassurance and crime prevention advice also shared.
Also to add Officers conducted a Ward Walk in Walsall town with the local authority community protection team, also alongside was Green Square Accord Housing. The whole group also got involved with a Street Clean.
🧑🤝🧑 Community Involvement
Thank you to everyone who’s taken part in:
Street watch Patrols across the St Matthews area, thank you to everyone involved and taking time out to protect your local community. There have also been Speed watch patrols in area’s that speeding has been highlighted as a concern, issuing speeding drivers with warning letters and preventing further speeding issues whilst there.
Your involvement makes a real difference. If you’d like to get involved, please reach out!

🗞️ Round-Up from All Wards
Here’s a snapshot of key updates across our patch:
Officers have remained active with arrests. One of which was including an individual who was wanted for 8 separate offences, they were found by two of our neighbourhood officers, detained and arrested.
PCSO’s were invited St Matthew’s Church Heritage weekend, they interacted with different youth organisations that were taking part and good relationships were formed. Various members of the church and the local community were able to speak with officers and discuss any issues and gain crime prevention advice, a good day all round!
‘A cupper with a copper’ event took place at one of the warden-controlled apartments near to the Town Centre. This was another positive event where members of the team were able to give relevant crime prevention advice that relates to the resident’s community. Officers were able to advise the residents the best way to report incidents to Police, making them feel valued and confident in ways of reporting.
Officers have also seized a vehicle for no insurance, tax or MOT, upon the seizure of the vehicle a lock-knife was found in the vehicle, resulting in this being seized and searching the passengers onboard. A juvenile female was arrested by the local officers after a large quantity of cannabis was recovered from them and was further arrested for racially aggravated public order. Another arrest also took place whereby a female was arrested due to a recall to prison, this turned out to be a good result. During these arrests, a male was also arrested for assaulting an emergency worker.
Officers were also privileged to attend the opening of The Armed Forces Hub at Lichfield Street Hub. This hub offers a safe and welcoming space where serving personnel, veterans, reservists and their families can receive guidance and connect directly with specialist support services, any further information please see Walsall Council website. Officers were very happy to provide support to this service and great to see people coming together for a great cause.
Thank you for your continued support and engagement. Stay safe and take care,
