Covent Garden Update

Covent Garden Update

Good afternoon all,

Today officers from St James SNT were patrolling Covent Garden tackling anti-social behaviour and shoplifting.

Officers popped into local businesses to offer further support regarding reporting offences of shoplifting and building an intelligence picture on prolific offenders. Local businesses are our eyes and ears when we can't be there so the reports they make and intelligence they gather is vital.

While on patrol officers were approached by a member of the public who had just had their phone stolen. The theft took place while the individual was having lunch. Officers immediately conducted an area search to no avail, and an investigation is ongoing. The suspect approached the table and used a handwritten sign as a distraction tactic. Individuals such as this are known to operate in the area so please be careful with your personal belongings when out and about at bars and restaurants.

Please look out for us when we are out and about.
