450 bottles of nitrous oxide seized in Kingston Town. Three males arrested

Here’s a quick update on anti-social behaviour locally. We know it can be distressing, but we’re working closely with partners to make the area safer and support residents.

On Friday night, alert plain-clothes officers carrying out proactive patrols near Kingston town centre spotted a van believed to be used to store nitrous oxide for distribution during nights out.
Officers searched the van and seized 450 bottles of nitrous oxide, along with a significant amount of cash. Three men were arrested and remain under investigation.
The illegal supply and misuse of nitrous oxide can have serious consequences for our town. Disputes between sellers can spill into violence, while using the substance can cause serious medical problems. Discarded containers and intoxicated behaviour can also contribute to anti-social behaviour in public spaces.
Nitrous oxide is a Class C controlled drug. Possession for wrongful inhalation and supplying it for that purpose are criminal offences. Suspected supply offences can lead to arrest.

Across London we’ve put hundreds more officers on the frontlines of community crime-fighting teams, upping visible patrols in the right ‘hot spots’ so we can deter and catch criminals - including with new tech like live facial recognition cameras, drones and e-bikes.

Antisocial behaviour can come in many forms and can require support from more organisations than just the police. A full list of what we categorise as antisocial behaviour is available on our website.
