Stolen bike arrest

Stolen bike arrest

Dear Resident

FYI, we know you’ve all had enough of stolen or illegal motorbikes being ridden dangerously and we’re on it.

Late last night our traffic officers got a report of a suspected stolen motorbike, a 1,000cc BMW, hurtling down the M6 into our force area at speeds of up to 140mph.

We were working out a plan to safely stop it when we got wind that the rider had stopped.

When we turned up the rider didn’t seem to want to chat and sprinted off over a fence.

The rider of a quadbike that had been parked next to the bike also ran off – so we went after the pair of them.

The quadbike rider, a 24-year-old man from Bedworth, was arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle and possession of class A drugs.

He is on police bail while enquiries continue.

We’re making some enquiries to work out just who was riding that BMW and we hope to catch up with them very soon.

Alongside the roads team, your neighbourhood officers are working hard to crack down on motorbike theft and illegal and anti social riders.
