After a member of the public reported to us about a vehicle that was parked with no valid tax officers attended and was able to seize the vehicle. If a vehicle has out of date tax by over two months and one day and on a public road officers are able to seize it on the spot. if you have any issues with untaxed vehicles in your area you can report them online
Steps to report a vehicle as untaxed Check if the vehicle is taxed before you report it - this is a free service. Make a note of the vehicle registration number, make, model and colour of the vehicle and the street name, town and the postcode where you saw it. You will not be able to report the vehicle without these details. or report to the police
You can check if a vehicle is taxed online. If you find that it isn’t, you can report the vehicle online. You’ll need the: vehicle registration number make model colour address where the vehicle is parked
