Free training opportunity to spot the signs of exploitation

Businesses and professionals across Derbyshire are being encouraged to take part in a free workshop designed to help identify the signs of child exploitation and modern slavery.

As part of Anti-Slavery Week in October, The Children's Society is delivering a series of #LookCloser workshops aimed at people who regularly come into contact with children and young people through their work.

The session provides an introduction to exploitation and modern slavery, helping attendees to recognise potential warning signs and understand how they can play a role in safeguarding vulnerable young people.

Many businesses are in a unique position to spot signs that a child or young person may be at risk, making awareness and early intervention vital.

The East Midlands workshop is planned to take place in person on Thursday 15 October. The session is expected to last around two hours, with the venue and timings to be confirmed and shared with those who register.
