Hello Residents;
 

Many of you will be aware there is a number of lockable gates installed at sites across Bolton. The gates were installed some years ago in response to repeated and persistent reports of crime and anti-social behaviour at the locations.

Powers to create PSPOs to allow gates to be installed over the highway to prevent and tackle crime and Anti-Social Behaviour came into force in October 2014. The Orders replaced existing Gating Orders sometimes called “alley gating” which automatically became PSPOs as of 20 October 2017.

PSPOs last for 3 years before they must be reviewed the current PSPO is now due for renewal. Bolton Council are now seeking to renew it for a further 3 years and would like feedback from the public and key stakeholders.

The sites included in the Tonge & The Haulgh area are in the area of the following streets:-

Abingdon Road
Ainsworth Lane area
Alders Lane
Archer Avenue
Bromwich Street
Cartmel Crescent
Castle Street
Crawford Avenue
Glaisdale Close
Hartfield Walk
Hilden Street
