Traffic Operation Tackles Road Safety and Vehicle Crime Concerns

On Friday 24 September 2026, officers from Boleyn and Plaistow North Safer Neighbourhood Teams, working alongside the Roads Danger Reduction Team, carried out a targeted traffic enforcement operation along Green Street and Barking Road.

The operation was conducted in response to community concerns and local intelligence regarding dangerous driving and the use of vehicles in criminal activity.

As a result of the operation:

• 5 e-bikes were seized.
• 3 e-scooters were seized.
• 3 vehicles were seized.
• 11 drivers were reported for driving without insurance.
• 10 drivers were reported for driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence.

The Metropolitan Police remains committed to improving road safety, tackling anti-social and dangerous driving, and addressing community concerns through proactive enforcement and engagement.
