Dear Resident, Blythe Crime update from Thursday 17th – Friday 25th September 2026. Residential Burglary. No Residential Burglaries have been reported. Burglary – Business and Community. Between 22/09/26 12.30pm to 24/09/26 11.11am a storage yard on Tythe Barn Lane, Shirley was broken into. Three vehicles and numerous machines were vandalised. One person was detained. Vehicle Crime. Officers are no longer allowed to put the manufacturers of vehicles that have been affected by vehicle crime. Naming them may give them a bad reputation. Theft from motor vehicle. Between 18/09/26 – 22/09/26 a Theft from vehicle was reported. Tools stolen by forcing the rear tailgate. Although the victim had driven to numerous locations within the time frame before the items were noticed missing, the location of the offence given was the underground car park off Gorcott Lane Dickens Heath.
Beat Surgery. There will be a Police Beat Surgery on the 29/09/29 from 10am/11am at Morton’s Kitchen Bar and Deli Restaurant. 7 Main street, Solihull B90 1UB. Security advice given. All Welcome.
Thank you to Dickens Heath and Cheswick Green Street Watch for their patrols. Please note. The thefts of Hybrids and 4 x4s are increasing around the West Midlands area. Please fit a steering lock. A tracking device may help locate the vehicle when fitted. Registration plates have been unscrewed or pulled off vehicles around Solihull. Please replace standard Registration plate screws, fixing pads, with anti-tamper screws fixings available from motor factors or online. Please make sure your sheds, garages side gates are locked. Move your wheelie bins inside your property away from any side gate entry. Please don’t leave your property in darkness, leave a light on. Ongoing patrols are continuing. Thank you to the residents who are helping Police with their investigations. If you see a vehicle in your area that you don’t recognise, parked up, please contact Police on 101 or use the West Midlands Police web site to log it. The location of new vehicle deposition sites are of interest to us. OBERVATIONS. If you see any residents leaving their property on an unregistered (no number plate) scrambler moto cross petrol or electric motorbikes, please email me or report it anonymously on Crime Stoppers on 0800 555111 as they are riding through local parks and Solihull Town Centre.
Please make sure your vehicles are locked. Solihull are being hit with theft from unlocked vehicles. Ensure that all garden furniture is stored away in a garden shed along with any tools to avoid aiding offenders in committing burglary. Ensure that Wheelie Bins are not stored near to fences and are chained together to prevent them from being used as climbing aids or storing objects in that may aid an offender to commit a crime.
