Police Community Message

We have received reports of anti-social behaviour involving the use of e-scooters and off-road motorcycles in the area.

Please be aware that e-scooters used on public roads, pavements, cycle paths, or other public places must comply with legal requirements. Privately owned e-scooters cannot be used on public land and should only be ridden on private land with the landowner's permission. Riders may be committing offences relating to insurance and driving licence requirements.

We have also received complaints regarding off-road motorcycles being ridden in an anti-social manner, causing nuisance to local residents and putting members of the public at risk.

Police patrols have been conducted in response to these reports. During patrols last night, officers located and seized an e-scooter being used illegally.

We will continue to carry out targeted patrols and take positive action where offences are identified. We ask parents and guardians to ensure they are aware of how and where these vehicles are being used.

If you witness anti-social behaviour or the illegal use of e-scooters or off-road motorcycles, please report it to Dorset Police via 101 or online. In an emergency, or if there is an immediate risk to the public, call 999.
