Prolific Shoplifter Convicted

Dear Lower Morden,

Earlier in the year Blue Diamond Garden Centre, Lower Morden Lane suffered a spate of thefts of Jelly Cat toys amounting to over £1000. Lower Morden safer neighbourhoods team secured the footage and identified the suspect. At the same time Surrey Police posted CCTV footage on social media of the same suspect stealing from garden centres across Surrey. SNT officers made contact with Surrey Police and identified the suspect for their offences. 

Luke King, 36, was arrested and charged in Southwark on the 4th September after extensive efforts to locate him. He appeared at Wimbledon Magistrates Court on the 24th September where he pleaded guilty to the thefts and was sentenced to a 12 month conditional discharge, ordered to pay £1100 compensation and banned from Blue Diamond Garden Centres.
