Vehicle thefts overnight - awareness

Gwent Police are aware of a series of thefts of Nissan Jukes overnight across the Caerphilly borough.
These have been key-less or stop-start models which have not required the key to be stolen.  

If you witnessed anything suspicious, have CCTV or other footage, or have any information in relation to these thefts please contact us via 101, Gwent Police's Facebook page, or online at https://www.gwent.police.uk/

If you have a relevant Nissan Juke, or any key-less vehicle, please consider the following advice:

• Always lock your vehicle, whether at home or out and about
• Keys and ignition fobs should be kept safe and out of sight and reach, including from windows or doors
• Consider investing in a Faraday Box or bag which shield key fobs from being 'hacked' or copied from outside your home
• Place the car somewhere it can't be easily driven from, such as behind a second car in your household
• Consider using a steering wheel lock, immobiliser, or tracking device.
• Consider devices such as home CCTV, video doorbells and security lighting or motion-activated solar lights.
