Serious Collision on North Road, N6

At approximately 08:13hrs on Thursday 24 September 2026, emergency services were called to a serious road traffic collision on North Road, N6.

The collision involved a 16-year-old female pedestrian who, tragically, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. Her family has been informed and is being supported by specially trained officers.

A 68-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving.

An investigation is currently underway to establish the full circumstances of the collision. Specialist officers remain at the scene and road closures are likely to continue while enquiries are carried out. Motorists are advised to avoid the area where possible and consider alternative routes.

We recognise the significant impact this incident will have on the local community and our thoughts are with the family and friends of the young girl who has sadly died.
