Stagecoach buses in Rectory Farm

We are aware of several incidents this week involving young people throwing conkers and stones at moving vehicles and buses in the Rectory Farm area.

These actions may seem harmless, but they can cause serious injury to drivers, passengers, cyclists, and pedestrians, as well as significant damage to vehicles. Throwing objects at moving traffic puts lives at risk and could result in criminal offences being committed.

As a result of these incidents, Stagecoach has been terminating its bus service at Rectory Farm Footbridge from 18:00, impacting local residents who rely on public transport.

We would urge parents and carers to speak with their children about the dangers and consequences of this behaviour and encourage them to act responsibly.

Local Neighbourhood Policing Officers will be increasing patrols in the area to provide reassurance to residents and to identify those responsible.
