Hoddesdon neighbourhood priorities are set

Your Hoddesdon Neighbourhood Policing Team has set its local policing priorities for the coming months.

We work alongside our partners to tackle both long and short-term neighbourhood issues, such as anti-social behaviour, vehicle nuisance and drug-related crime.

Every four months, we analyse crime data and consider feedback from residents to identify the issues causing the most concern in the local area. Community feedback plays a vital role in helping us decide where to focus our efforts.

Over the coming months, you will see your local PCs and PCSOs working alongside partners to address these priorities through increased patrols, engagement events and targeted enforcement activity.

Our priorities for Hoddesdon will be:

• Tackling anti-social behaviour in the Fairfield Drive area

• Addressing acquisitive crime around petrol stations

• Reducing thefts from motor vehicles across Hoddesdon

While we will be focusing on these priorities, we will continue to respond to day-to-day incidents, force wide priorities and any emerging issues requiring immediate action.

Alongside the Neighbourhood Policing Team, Hoddesdon is also supported by response officers, detectives investigating crimes such as burglary, robbery and assault, and specialist units tackling issues including acquisitive crime and domestic abuse. We can also call on a range of countywide policing resources when needed.

Previously, residents asked us to focus on anti-social behaviour and acquisitive crime in Hoddesdon town centre.

To tackle these issues, we:

• Increased patrols in Hoddesdon town centre, including engagement with schools and plain-clothed activity, leading to individuals being identified.

• Seized a number of illegally ridden Sur-Ron bikes and e-scooters, and we will continue to take action against those being used unlawfully.

Information from the public continues to play a vital role in helping us identify offenders and tackle local concerns, so please continue to report issues to us.
