We’re finishing our vehicle crime prevention week with a simple challenge:

Before leaving your vehicle tonight, take 60 seconds and ask yourself:

✅ Is the vehicle definitely locked?

✅ Are all windows and the sunroof closed?

✅ Have I removed valuables and anything visible which could attract attention?

✅ Are my vehicle documents somewhere safe at home rather than inside the vehicle?

✅ Are my keys and spare keys stored safely away from doors and windows?

✅ If I have keyless entry, are my keys protected from relay theft?

✅ Have I used any additional physical security I have available?

✅ Is my motorcycle, scooter or moped locked, chained and covered?

✅ Have I removed or properly secured tools and equipment from my van?

✅ Is the vehicle parked somewhere well lit and overlooked where possible?

Vehicle crime is often opportunistic. Making your vehicle more difficult, noisy or time-consuming to steal can encourage a criminal to move on.
