Dear Resident

Officers from your local neighbourhood policing team will be holding a community surgery in your area soon.

Please come along and speak with officers about any concerns you may have about crime and policing in your area.

🎃 Halloween Safety Message from Your Local Policing Team 🎃

As Halloween approaches, we would like to remind everyone to celebrate safely, responsibly, and with consideration for others within our community.

If you are taking children trick-or-treating, please ensure they stay with a responsible adult where appropriate, wear bright or reflective clothing, stick to well-lit areas, and take extra care when crossing roads. Motorists are also reminded to be particularly vigilant, as there may be an increased number of children and families out during the evening.

To help residents who do not wish to participate in Halloween activities, "No Trick or Treat" posters are available to collect from the linked engagement which will take place at the Elgar centre, between 10:00am – 11:00am on 28/10/2026. These posters can be displayed in windows to clearly indicate that the household does not wish to receive trick-or-treaters.

We ask that everyone respects these signs and remembers:

🎃 Only knock on doors where residents are happy to participate.
🎃 Do not knock on homes displaying a "No Trick or Treat" poster.
🎃 Be respectful of residents' wishes and property.
🎃 Keep noise to a minimum and avoid behaviour that could cause alarm or distress.
🎃 Parents should remind children about road safety and respectful behaviour when visiting homes.

We would also encourage residents to collect posters on behalf of neighbours, elderly residents, or those who may be unable to visit a collection point themselves. This small act of community support can help ensure that everyone's wishes are clearly displayed and respected.

By showing consideration for one another, we can help make Halloween an enjoyable and safe occasion for everyone in our community.
