Operation Advance returns to Dudley as officers crackdown on crime

#OpAdvance | We’ll be tackling the crime that matters most to the Dudley community today as Operation Advance returns to the borough. 

There will be extra police resources in place as part of an intensified day of activity (23 Sept) in the borough, with existing Dudley teams bolstered with specialist units and officers from across the force. 

Operation Advance visits each local policing area throughout the West Midlands and this month it’s Dudley’s turn. 

The teams have already been working through the night with officers heading out to arrest suspects wanted for a range of offences. 

Activity will continue throughout the day and into the evening as we target organised and violent crime, road safety, and anti-social behaviour while also visiting colleges and businesses to engage with people in the community.

Chief Inspector Bryn Robins, of Dudley Police, said: “Operation Advance sees staff and officers from not only Dudley but across the force working together with partners to carry out an intensive police operation. 

“We’re listening to the issues the community are reporting to us, which is why days like this are so important in having the extra resources and tackling the issues that matter most to the people living and working in the borough. 

“If you see officers out on patrol in your area, feel free to stop them and say hello and tell them about any issues affecting you.”
