🚔 Road Safety Operation Results | Hindley 🚔

Yesterday, officers from our Tutor Unit carried out proactive traffic operations across Liverpool Road and Hall Lane, Hindley, targeting speeding and other road traffic offences.

📍 Liverpool Road ✅ 6 Traffic Offence Reports (TORs) issued for speeding ✅ 1 TOR issued for no MOT ✅ 1 driver given words of advice regarding their driving

During the operation, officers stopped a vehicle travelling at 35mph in a 30mph zone. Whilst engaging with the driver, officers identified evidence of suspected drug use and detected a strong smell of cannabis. A search was conducted and the driver was found in possession of cannabis and a butterfly knife. A roadside drugs test proved positive for cannabis and cocaine, resulting in the driver's arrest on suspicion of: • Possession of a Class B drug • Drug driving • Possession of an offensive weapon

📍 Hall Lane ✅ 11 Traffic Offence Reports (TORs) issued for speeding ✅ 1 driver reported to court after being recorded travelling at 58mph in a 30mph zone ✅ 2 drivers given words of advice regarding their driving

Officers also stopped a van travelling above the speed limit. Subsequent checks revealed the vehicle was uninsured, had no valid tax or MOT, and was displaying false registration plates. The vehicle was recovered under Section 165 of the Road Traffic Act.

⚠️ Speed limits are there to protect everyone using our roads. We will continue to carry out enforcement activity across the area and take positive action against those who put others at risk.
