BREAKING NEWS: Wantage & Grove officers spotted outside the Wantage & Grove patch. 😱

📣 WANTAGE & GROVE NHPT 📣

Last weekend we did something brave.

Something daring.

Something frankly quite unsettling...

We left our patch. 😳

We put our big pants on and ventured so far from the Wantage & Grove patch that a couple of us started getting nosebleeds. 😂

Our destination?

🎡 THAME FAIR! 🎠

We headed over to support Thame NHPT, joining officers from Thame, Abingdon and Oxford to help police the fair and make sure everyone could enjoy themselves safely.

There was just one small detail nobody warned us about...

🥾 THE WALKING.

By the end of the shift we'd covered over 10 miles on foot.

Our boots were smoking, our knees had lodged a formal complaint and our step counters thought we'd accidentally entered an ultramarathon. 😂

Joking aside, it was a cracking evening. Great atmosphere, lots of people enjoying the fair and some brilliant teamwork between the different neighbourhood teams. 👮‍♀️👮‍♂️

Eventually, with tired feet, we pointed ourselves back towards the Wantage & Grove patch.

We made it home safely. 🏠🚓

Adventure over.

Normal neighbourhood policing across Wantage, Grove and our surrounding villages has now resumed. 😂
