Resident
Officers have been on patrol at the Glebe regarding reports of parking Issues and have spoken to the local shop keepers regarding this as well as parents when dropping off / picking up their children from school
Officers have been patrolling in Lea Hall regarding the Off Road Bikes and working with the council regarding an address
Patrols continue at the Yew Tree for motorists parking on the Zig Zags and those caught will receive their ticket, points and fine, Remember you can also report these vehicles by using www.nextbase.co.uk/national-dash-cam-safety-portal & Operation Snap to upload your footage,
Stechford Retail Park continues to have high visibility patrols and visits to each shop which seems to be working and the beggars seem to have got the message but will always try their luck and are swiftly moved on making it a more pleasant place to come & shop
If you notice any vehicles where you live that you have not seen before or have been there for a long time please do not hesitate to contact us and we will gladly have a look and check them out - A concerned community member Informed us of a Hilux parked in Vicarage Road that the registration did not match the year / model and checks completed and shown as a cloned vehicle and seized.
Our Street Watch volunteers go from strength to strength and continue to be a high visibility presence in the community and a credit to Stechford & Yardley North Neighbourhood Team and West Midlands Police, We are still looking for more volunteers and if interested please contact me on the following - kenneth.walters@westmidlands.police.uk Patrolled by the Community for the Community and glad to say that we may soon be welcoming a new volunteer team member.
STREET WATCH Street Watch is a scheme run by the community, for the community in partnership with the police. Street watch is about being out and about in your local area providing reassurance to the public and helping police to tackle local problems. You can help police tackle the low-level issues that impact most on your communities and their quality of life. Street Watch volunteers walk around their community just like any other resident. However, Street Watch members will walk in pairs wearing high visibility jackets, in order to provide visible levels of reassurance, to promote good citizenship, and to increase the feeling of safety.
WHAT STREET WATCH INVOLVES
A minimum of two hours patrols every month Once we have approximately four members then the scheme can get off the ground Patrolling must be done in pairs and they must be in possession of a mobile phone You will have regular contact with your local police team so that team members are aware of current local issues and concerns Highlighting problems such as anti-social behaviour, graffiti and environmental problems Florescent jackets bearing the Street Watch insignia must be worn when you are patrolling Members will be given a short presentation prior to the scheme commencing, outlining their role, expectations and ensuring they fully understand the ethos behind the scheme We will provide insurance which must be in place before you can begin, our insurance policy for each Street Watch area can cover 15 people.

Keyless car fobs are an increasing common feature of modern vehicles, allowing proximity access and push – button Ignition Unfortunately, as the design of vehicles has modernised, so too have the methods of the thieves that target them. Tech – savvy criminals are using signal boosting devices to amplify the proximity signal of a fob that is inside a property, while an accomplice waits next to the vehicle, ready to open the door and known as Relay Attacks / Keyless Thefts. This method Is quick, silent, & allows the easy theft of vehicles and valuables

Community Speed Watch
Community Speed Watch gives local residents the ability to actively get involved in road safety. Local volunteers join together and monitor traffic speeds at identified locations in the community, Information is recorded and passed to the local police neighbourhood team, which result in a warning letter being sent to the registered keeper.
Community Speed Watch is about taking positive action and helping to improve the safety and quality of life for everyone in the community and to raise public awareness of inappropriate speeding of vehicles. The volunteer’s work at locations identified/suggested by the community based on where there is concern regarding speeding traffic or the impact of speed
All volunteers are given training on how to use the speed detection equipment and safe working procedures, how to monitor the speed of vehicles safely, Volunteers will be issued with a high visibility jackets for the safety of volunteers and also to notify motorists that they are entering a Community Speed Watch area.
The registration number of speeding vehicles is recorded and West Midlands Police will send a letter to offending motorists. The presence of the Speed Watch volunteers out on the streets is to make drivers think twice about their driving habits and to slow down. Speed Watch will also allow us to collect data about the number of cars speeding in identified locations.

Theft of a Motor Vehicle… On 12/09/26 between 02.00 hrs & 12.30 hrs Unknown offenders have stolen a 58-plate Audi A3 from Albert Road, by unknown means
On 14/09/26 between 22.00 hrs & 23.10 hrs Unknown offenders have stolen a 14-plate Hyundai 110 Classic on the Meadway. Victim was delivering a food order and left keys in vehicle with engine running when offender has jumped in and sped off whilst the other ran off on foot, £50.00 was also left inside the vehicle
Theft from Motor Vehicle… On 14/09/26 between 23.00 hrs & 10.00 hrs on the 15/09/26 Unknown offenders have gained entry to a 70-plate Ford Focus on Inglefield Road, by unknown means & stolen £10.00 in cash On 17/09/26 between 23.00 hrs & 07.00 hrs on 18/09/26 Unknown offenders have forced open the rear window to a 21-plate Toyota Hilux on Deepmoor Road & stolen a toolbox & contents to the value of £2,000 – Enquiries ongoing
On 18/09/26 between 17.30 hrs & 18.15 hrs Unknown offenders have stolen both front & rear number plates from a Ford Fiesta on School Lane On 18/09/26 between 17.00 hrs & 09.00 hrs on 19/09/26 Unknown offenders have gained entry to a 73-pate Ford Transit Van on Kelynmead Road by unknown means and stolen a quantity of tools
Residential Burglary… On 17/09/26 at 22.30 hrs Unknown offenders have gained entry to a property on Garretts Green Lane and stolen £15,000 in cash - Enquiries ongoing
Burglary of a Business... On 17/09/26 between 21.55 hrs & 22.00 hrs Two unknown offenders have entered the shell garage shop on Station Road, and filled a large holdall with chocolates and alcohol from the shelves valued at £485.00 and made threats to the cashier they had knives on them – Enquiries ongoing
On 12/09/26 at 18.20 hrs Unknown offender has gained access to the warehouse at ASDA on Kelynmead Road and stolen two bottles of Jack Daniels to the value of £60.00 – Enquiries ongoing
On 15/09/26 at 06.15 hrs Unknown female offender has managed to steal £30.00 from the till at McDonalds on Stechford Retail Park by reaching over and pushing buttons on the till until it opened whilst the manager was distracted, she has been identified and arrested.
