Dear Residents,
Following reports of Cuckooing and a recent arrest, the team set about a plain clothes tasking to disrupt drug related activity on the ward. This coincided with our ward promise to reduce violence around EALING COMMON, as drugs and violence come hand in hand.
Day 1 - THURSDAY 10/09 - Sergeant Love, PC Young and PC Humphreys attended several addresses on the ward linked to Cuckooing and drug activity. Intel lead the team to the border with ACTON, where 2 males were detained near to WOODLANDS PARK. A male was found to have 37 wraps of Crack Cocaine and 10 wraps of Heroin on his person. He was charged and remanded for Possession with intent to Supply Crack Cocaine and Possession with intent to supply Heroin. Multiple hours of Phone work, searches and interviewing lead to charges being authorised by the CPS.
Day 2 - SATURDAY 12/09 - Sergeant Love and PC Young continued plain clothes patrols to disturb drug activity. A Female was stopped in the process of consuming drugs outside of ST. MATTHEWS church and was issued with a Community Protection Notice, preventing her from engaging in ASB in the area. Following a Section 23 Misuse of Drugs Act search, she was escorted from the area. On the way back to the Station Sergeant Love spotted a familiar face. Another female was sat begging and was wanted for breaching a Court Order. The WEST EALING teams had been hunting her for some time and after she gave her correct details, she was arrested to be put before the courts.
Day 3 - SUNDAY 13/09 - Sergeant Love and PC Young went out for the final day, again in plain clothes. A female was followed into SAINSBURY's, where she was seen to steal several food items and leave without paying. She was searched by PC Young and the store staff banned her from all SAINSBURY's. Back out on patrol, a male was seen walking hurriedly towards a known dealing spot on the HANGER LANE. Following a brief meet with a suspected dealer on a bike he left quickly back towards EALING COMMON. When detained he tried to resist and was taken to the floor by Sergeant Love and PC Young. He was detained for a S23 MDA search and found to be in possession of 3 wraps of Heroin. A Postal Charge is being drawn up, after he admitted the offence. He will then be given a Court date.
Scores on the doors - 2 arrests (Breach of Court Order & Possession with intent to supply Drugs) 1 Charge and remand to Court (Possession with intent to Supply Drugs) 5 stop and search (4 positive) 1 Community Protection Notice issued 1 Postal Charge for Possession of Class A Drugs 1 intelligence report submitted relating to Cuckooing and Drug dealing A good few proactive days Policing and we are hopeful this will follow with a decline in Anti-Social behaviour in and around the Common. Please continue to send information or other areas of concern and we will aim to follow it up as soon as possible.
Kind Regards Sergeant Love | ||
