Spiking |

|
As Freshers' Week approaches, and with many relatives, friends, colleagues, and community members either starting or continuing their studies at college or university, beginning new careers, and attending social events, please be aware of the criminal offence of spiking. Spiking can involve adding alcohol, drugs, or any other substance to a person's drink, food, vape, cigarette, or directly into their body without their knowledge or consent. Anyone can be a victim of spiking, regardless of age or gender. If you witness suspicious behaviour or believe someone may have been spiked, seek assistance immediately from venue staff, security, medical professionals, or the police. Early intervention can help safeguard the victim, preserve evidence, and support any subsequent investigation. When socialising, look out for one another, never leave drinks unattended, and report any concerns promptly. Together, we can help ensure everyone enjoys a safe and positive Freshers' Week and start to the academic year. | ||
