Community Speed Enforcement Update – Larkshall Road, E4
We wanted to provide an update regarding speeding concerns raised by residents on Wards.
On 14 September, officers carried out a speed enforcement operation in the area for approximately 45 minutes. During this period, 16 vehicles were detected travelling above the speed limit, with the highest speed recorded being approximately 40 mph.
We understand the concerns that speeding vehicles can cause within the community and remain committed to improving road safety for all residents. We will continue to monitor the location and carry out further enforcement activity where necessary across the ward or neighbouring wards.
Officers will continue to conduct regular speed enforcement operations in the area, including the use of speed detection equipment and high-visibility patrols. We are also working closely with local residents and partner agencies to identify road safety concerns and target enforcement where it is most needed.
Drivers found exceeding the speed limit may be subject to a range of outcomes, including words of advice, educational interventions, fixed penalty notices, or prosecution, depending on the circumstances and severity of the offence. Ongoing monitoring of traffic speeds will help inform future enforcement activity and road safety initiatives.
