Your neighbourhood policing team continues to carry out daily proactive operations within the town centre, focusing on issues that matter most to businesses, residents and visitors, including:

As part of our ongoing efforts, officers have been conducting both high-visibility patrols and plain-clothed operations to identify offenders, gather intelligence and take positive action against those involved in criminality.

We understand that some members of the public may not always see officers on patrol and may assume that nothing is being done. We would like to reassure the community that policing activity takes place every day, often behind the scenes. Whether in uniform or plain clothes, officers are actively working to disrupt crime, target offenders and keep the town centre safe.

Many of the results achieved through our operations come from plain-clothed deployments, targeted patrols, intelligence-led enquiries and partnership working, meaning our presence is not always immediately visible.

We remain committed to tackling retail crime, reducing anti-social behaviour linked to street drinking, and disrupting those involved in the use and supply of illegal drugs. The information we receive from businesses, residents and visitors is vital in helping us identify problem areas and repeat offenders.
