Our response to drinking and begging in Newport City Centre

We have continued to respond to concerns regarding drinking and begging within the city centre, which is covered by the Public Space Protection Order (PSPO).

As part of our ongoing response, officers have:

These measures form part of our wider work to maintain a safe, welcoming and pleasant city centre environment for residents, businesses and visitors.

As a team, we will continue to monitor the situation and take appropriate action where breaches of the PSPO or other relevant legislation are identified.
