The new iPhone 18 is due to be released this week, and with an increase in the number of high-value phones being purchased, we are expecting this could lead to an increase in phone and parcel thefts.

As part of our ongoing work to target these offences, tomorrow we will be holding a phone marking event in the local area.

The phone marking event forms part of Op Reckoning, where officers will be carrying our targeted activity to tackle phone theft, alongside preventative and enforcement work.

What is phone marking?

Phone marking involves applying a unique traceable security marking to your device. This can help police identify your phone if it has been recovered and can make is easier to establish ownership. It also acts as a visible deterrent to offenders and can make your device less attractive to steal.

Helps police identify and return recovered phones.
