Appeal for witnesses, footage and information following burglaries at New Forest fire stations

We are appealing for information and witnesses following two reported burglaries at fire stations in the New Forest.

During the incidents, which occurred between 2pm on Saturday 5 September and 9.45am on Sunday 6 September, entry was forced to a window and door.

After entry was gained to the stations in Burley and Fordingbridge, it’s reported that vital lifesaving equipment was stolen.

Speaking on the impact of such incidents for the wider community, PC Adrian Woodhead, said: "New Forest retained fire stations provide a vital life-saving role to rural communities, and have been heavily deployed over the summer to wildfires and other road incidents.

"Theft of expensive equipment increases the risk to the general public and can impact emergency response capabilities.

"Officers from our Neighbourhood Policing Team are currently working hard to progress lines of enquiry in a bid to identify and prosecute offenders, whilst continuing to protect our rural communities."

We would like to hear from anyone who witnessed anything of either incident, or from anyone who has any footage that may assist in our investigation, including CCTV and dash cam, particularly between the times of 4.30am and 5am on Sunday 6 September.
