✅ Good News from Your Local Policing Team ✅

On their last late shift, St Matthew’s DNO and PCSO’s went out and about in partnership with a Greensquare Accord Housing Officer. They visited several properties and locations across St Matthews including the town centre and Caldmore areas, where issues such as Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) and neighbourhood issues have been causing issues within the properties and the wider community they are in.  These visits are based on intelligence that is received from those people living in the community affected.  Additional intelligence was received with reassurance and crime prevention advice also shared.

At the weekend PCSO’s attended events that were linked with St Matthew’s Church Heritage weekend.  There were good community engagements throughout.  There was a high footfall from the church community. PCSO’s linked up with different youth organisations that were taking part.  Historical ASB at the location discussed, reassurance and crime prevention advice was given.

On Friday ‘A cupper with a copper’ event took place at one of the warden-controlled apartments near to the Town Centre.  This was another positive event where members of the team were able to give relevant crime prevention advice that relates to the resident’s community. Also, there was some individualised advice and reassurance shared with individual residents that have previously reported issues.

With the wider group, the many ways available to contact the police service, was discussed.

Officers have also seized a vehicle for no insurance, tax or MOT, upon the seizure of the vehicle a lock-knife was found in the vehicle, resulting in that also being seized and stop and searching the passengers onboard. A juvenile female was arrested by the local officers after a large quantity of cannabis was recovered from their person and was further arrested for racially aggravated public order. Another arrest also took place whereby a female was arrested due to a recall to prison, this turned out to be a good result. During these arrests one more took place after a male unfortunately assaulted an emergency worker. 

Finally Officers conducted a Ward Walk in Caldmore with the Council's community protection team, also alongside was Green Sqaure Accord. The whole group also got involved with a Street Clean. Some officers across different teams come together for a plain clothes operation within the Walsall town centre, resulting in good outcomes for vehicle and drug offenses.

📅 Upcoming Police & Community Engagements 📅

Officers remain pro-active within the town, more stop and searches are happening and are planned to continue on to make the town safer for all. Speedwatches have also been planned by the local PCSO for the whole month of September and will look to achieve some good numbers regarding speeding. More will be set to take place in the upcoming months. More operation are also set to be planned for the town centre to tackle any sort of crime that may occur. The local PCSO's have also arranged more community meetings in order to build relations with the public and get their views and concerns or anything that they may have on their mind and want to express.
