2 in custody - appeal

Following reports to North Yorkshire Police, a 38-year-old Scarborough woman and a 31-year-old Scarborough man have been arrested in connection with an act of outraging public decency and are currently in custody.

We are aware of images circulating on social media and we would like to speak to anyone who has witnessed the act, in particular, the person who took the original image.

Reports were made to Police after 7pm on Monday 14 September 2026 resulting in the ongoing investigation.

CCTV enquiries have been ongoing throughout the day.

We are asking for assistance from our community. Were you in Scarborough Town Centre last night and did you witness anything suspicious?
