Burglary Alert - Bolton-Le-Sands 13/09/2026

Dear residents, please can you be aware of the following information;

In the early hours of Sunday 13th September 2026, a house in Bolton-Le-Sands (B-L-S) was burgled, whereby two vehicles were stolen from the property; a black Mercedes A180 and a Black Landrover Freelander. Within the next 30 minutes, a pharmacy in Slyne was broken into with the getaway vehicle suspected as being one of the stolen vehicles from the burglary. 

Local police officers attended the area immediately and have been able to locate and recover one of the stolen vehicles - the Freelander in a nearby village. The investigation identified a vehicle linked to both burglaries and this vehicle was sighted in Preston shortly after the burglaries and was stopped by Preston Police. Within this vehicle were three males, all were arrested on suspicion of the burglaries.

The males; a 29 year old and a 21 year old from Lancaster and a 19 year old from B-L-S have been interviewed and bailed as the investigation continues. Their bail conditions prohibit them from entering the villages of Slyne or B-L-S for any reason. The 29 year old was remanded in police custody to attend court this morning (Monday 14th September 2026) for unrelated matters.

Please be rest assured these burglaries are being investigated by detectives in the local Burglary Team and we will endeavour to put those identified in front of the courts as soon as possible. In the meantime, local police will continue to try and prevent and disrupt those that travel into our villages to commit these thefts. Remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity you see at the time on 999 as it might just prevent you or your neighbours being burgled. 

It is believed the method of the burglaries remain the same, with unlocked doors or windows being their main method of gaining entry into properties.
