🚗 Vehicle Crime Prevention Advice

We have recently received reports of offenders checking car door handles and targeting insecure vehicles in the area. Please take a few moments to help protect your vehicle and belongings.

✅ Always lock your vehicle, even when parked on your driveway.

✅ Double-check that doors are locked before leaving your vehicle, as modern keyless systems can sometimes fail to lock properly.

✅ Remove all valuables from your vehicle. Items left on display, including bags, wallets, sunglasses, tools, mobile phones and charging cables, can attract thieves.

✅ Do not leave keys or spare keys inside your vehicle.

✅ Park in well-lit areas where possible and consider using CCTV or security lighting.

✅ Report any suspicious activity promptly by calling 101 or 999 if a crime is in progress.

Remember: thieves often target vehicles that appear easy to access. Taking a few simple precautions can greatly reduce the risk of becoming a victim of vehicle crime.
