Safe Haven Scheme – Supporting Safety in Richmond |
||
|
Hi,
Your local Safer Neighbourhood Team would like to raise awareness of the Safe Haven scheme operating across Richmond. Safe Havens are participating local businesses and venues that can provide a temporary place of safety for anyone who feels vulnerable, threatened or unsafe while out in the community.
This could include someone who has experienced or feels at risk of harassment, verbal abuse, intimidation, anti-social behaviour or other related incidents.
Staff at Safe Haven venues are not expected to be specialist support workers. Instead, they can provide a safe space, help contact the emergency services where necessary, or signpost someone towards appropriate support services so they can continue their journey safely.
Safe Havens are available to anyone who feels vulnerable or unsafe – not just women and girls.
Your local Safer Neighbourhood Team supports initiatives that help make Richmond a safer place for residents, visitors and those working in the borough.
If there is an immediate danger or a crime is taking place, always call 999.
