Vehicle Seizures and Road Safety |
||
|
Neighbourhood Police Officers are continuing to take proactive action against illegal and unsafe vehicles across our community.
Over recent weeks, officers have stopped and checked a number of vehicles, with action taken where offences have been identified.
Vehicles found to be uninsured, being driven without a valid MOT where required, or in a dangerous and unroadworthy condition may be seized, reported, and removed from the road. Drivers may also face fines, penalty points and court proceedings.
We are actively targeting those who put themselves and others at risk by using unsafe vehicles. A valid MOT does not guarantee a vehicle is roadworthy. Drivers are responsible for ensuring their tyres, lights, brakes, windscreen, mirrors and other safety critical parts are in a safe condition every time they get behind the wheel.
Our patrols will continue, and where offences are identified, we will take positive action. Please take a few minutes to check your vehicle is safe, legal and fit for the road before every journey.
