Here’s an update on burglary locally. Crime Prevention Alert: Distraction Burglaries ⚠️ We have recently received reports of distraction burglary incidents in the ward, where individuals have approached residents claiming to be from NatWest Bank. Please remember: 🔹 Always be cautious of unexpected callers at your door. 🔹 Do not let anyone into your home unless you are expecting them and have verified their identity. 🔹 Genuine bank staff will not normally visit your home without a pre-arranged appointment. 🔹 If someone claims to be from a bank, utility company, or any other organisation, ask them to leave and contact the organisation directly using a trusted phone number. 🔹 Keep doors locked, even when you are at home. Please look after elderly family members, friends, and neighbours, as criminals often target those who may be more vulnerable. Take a few minutes to speak with them about distraction burglaries and remind them never to feel pressured into opening their door or allowing strangers into their home. If you see anything suspicious or have concerns about callers in your area, please report it. In an emergency or if a crime is in progress, always call 999. Stay vigilant and help protect our community. By looking out for one another, we can help prevent residents from becoming victims of crime.
