Community update: Road safety and road traffic offences |
I wanted to provide you with an update regarding Road safety and road traffic offences including speeding, driving uninsured tax, using mobile phone no seatbelt whilst driving or Drink/drug driving, which people around your area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the priority survey. Officers and PCSO’s from the local neighbourhood policing team recently conducted a road safety operation targeting speeding vehicles in the area. During the operation, a number of drivers were identified travelling above the speed limit and appropriate action was taken. Speeding remains one of the main factors contributing to serious and fatal road traffic collisions, reducing a driver's ability to react to hazards and increasing both stopping distances and the severity of injuries when collisions occur. Enforcement operations such as these play a vital role in improving road safety, encouraging compliance with speed limits, and helping to protect all road users, including pedestrians, cyclists, and other motorists. If you ever experience this issue or have information regarding an incident, please report it using our online reporting tools at www.northants.police.uk, speak to an operator in our Force Communications Room via our online web chat or call the non-emergency number 101.
Alternatively, you can stay 100 per cent anonymous by contacting the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or via their untraceable online form at crimestoppers-uk.org.
